10 Things You Should Do on Your Facebook Business Page

Are you a business owner who was told to start a Facebook business page but don’t know the first thing about what to do? Well, buckle up, because Greyphin is about to take you on a magical journey through the realm of social media marketing and how you should navigate the platform in order to reach your target audience.

Okay, maybe Facebook isn’t the most magical thing in the world, but it certainly can be if you use it the right way for your business! To make things easier for you, we’ve created this list of things you should do on your Facebook business page to increase engagement and gain the attention of potential new customers:

1. Post Every Day and At Peak Times

When it comes to social media, being consistent about posting every day is key to showing up on your followers’ Facebook news feed. Posting regularly will let the algorithm know that you’re an active user and will also show your followers that you’re dedicated to your business. What exactly should you be posting, you ask? Well, it doesn’t have to be anything crazy. Your posts could be as simple as a poll, an eye-catching image, a video, a blog post from your website - the list goes on and on!

2. Interact with Your Followers

Whenever you post something and your followers start commenting, you should be commenting, too! Interacting with your followers shows that you’re interested in who they are and how they feel about your service or product. It also shows that you’re dedicated to providing them with a positive experience. You may not be able to get to every single comment on every post, but making an effort to reach out will make an impact.

Also, be sure to check and answer your Facebook messages each day to ensure you’re providing the best customer service possible.

3. Go Live

Live videos are one of the best tools to use on Facebook. Going live on your Facebook business page allows you to interact with your followers in real-time, providing a more personal experience to potential customers. Live videos don’t have to be anything fancy - they could be announcements, Q&A sessions, showing off a new product, etc. No matter what you do for a live video, we guarantee it will capture the attention of more followers than you expect!

4. Create a Facebook Group

While your Facebook business page is a great place to post things about, well, your business, a Facebook Group can be an awesome tool for interacting with your audience. In a Facebook Group, business owners can ask questions, make polls, network, and more. And, those who are in your Facebook Group have a better chance of seeing your group posts versus the posts you make for your regular page. Your group can be dedicated to your business, or it could be something related. For example, if your business is a car dealership, you could create a group that’s all about classic cars. Or, if you run a nursery, you could start a group that’s strictly about gardening. You see what we mean?

5. Show Off Your Products

If you’re an e-commerce business, then a great way to get people to buy your products is to show them off in your posts! It’s worth investing in a good photographer to take snapshots and videos of the things you sell in order to get the attention of your followers. Of course, everyone loves a great sale, so it’s always a good idea to post about any good deals you have on your website in order to generate more revenue!

6. Promote Contests

Another fantastic way to increase engagement from your fans on your Facebook business page is to start contests! People love signing up to win things - so if you promote a contest on your social media that’s linking out to your website, you’re most likely going to get a ton of customer names and emails that you can later use for email newsletters and other promotions. Contests can also be something as simple as asking people to post their favorite photo of them using your product or service and posting a “Photo of the Week.”

7. Post Events

Event listings on Facebook are useful to grabbing the attention of your audience. When you post events, that shows your followers that your company is active and will make them want to participate. The events you post can be anything from an actual, physical event such as a concert or festival, or it could be something like a sale or promotion that you’ll have going on for a specific amount of time.

8. Post Lots of Videos

Believe it or not, sharing videos to your Facebook business page is one of the best ways for your posts to show up on peoples’ news feeds. The videos you post can be videos about your products and business, or, really, about anything that you think your audience will find interesting!

9. Pin Favorite Posts

If you have certain posts on your Facebook business page that are performing better than others, why not try pinning it to the top of your page? This will be the first post anyone will see when they visit your page. And, when they see that it has a lot of engagement, it will signify that your page is pretty popular, potentially gaining you more followers. Because, who wouldn’t want to follow a popular page that clearly interacts and engages customers?

10. Share Posts from Other Pages

Of course, original content is always wonderful to post, but sometimes it’s good to share posts from other pages that you think your followers will love. It’s best to share posts that have high engagement, as this will most likely translate to high engagement on your page as well. Think about it - if a post did really well and caught the attention of a lot of people on another page, why wouldn’t it perform well on yours, too?

Whew, we’re a little tired from typing all of that out, but we’re hoping that this list will be helpful in your endeavor to create a well performing Facebook business page. As always, if you have questions, we’re here for you. Also, be sure to note that we offer social media management services so you don’t have to do all this hard work on your own!
