While it’s easy to want to jump on the Moz train based off of this information alone, it’s important to consider all the pros and cons that come along with the software they offer.
What is Moz?
Before we jump into the pros and cons of Moz, let’s talk about the basics of what makes up Moz SEO. Moz is a website that offers a SEO toolset include an all-in-one SEO platform called Moz Pro; a local SEO analysis program called Moz Local; and a tool called STAT which provides analytics for search engine results page ranking and tracking.

Perhaps one of the most desirable features of Moz is the free trial. Yes, you read that right. The 30 day trial sets Moz apart from other SEO software companies that offer either limited trials or no free trials at all.
Cons of Moz
Now that we’ve talked about the pros of Moz’s SEO tools, let’s discuss some of the shortcomings of the software.
Con #1: Information Overload
As we’ve found with a lot of the software we’ve been reviewing lately, there seems to be an issue with information overload for new users. Moz is no stranger to this. If someone is new to using search engine optimization software all together, it’s easy to understand why such a robust tool would be intimidating. However, Moz does offer a variety of how-to guides, beginner’s guides, SEO Q&A, webinars, the SEO learning center, and Moz Academy to help beginners, and even experienced SEOs, learn information and techniques to help their strategies.
Con #2: Not-So-User-Friendly Interface
One of the problems with having so many great tools in one platform is that it can get kind of confusing. One of the main cons we’ve seen talked about on various forums related to Moz is that the interface isn’t very user-friendly because of all the tools available. Unfortunately, unless you’re well-versed in the software, it can be difficult to remember where to go and how to navigate certain parts of the platform.
Con #3: Pricing
While the 30-day free trial of Moz SEO suite is quite attractive, the monthly prices are considerably pricey for small to medium sized businesses. With the $99/per month price tag for the standard option, it’s easy to see why some companies may be intimidated to pay for the even more expensive plans. Check out Moz’s pricing here to learn more.
